But what about the teeter-totter of dreams and real life? I have a dream, I call it my pipe dream, of being an author. My husband tells me to come up with a new name as pipe dream implies it will never happen. What has happened is real life. My teeter-totter has dipped to the side of real world.
Mind you, I have been kicking A#@ in my real world job. I even won a major award, I’m just waiting for the leg lamp to arrive in the mail and make it official. I love my job but always in the back of my mind are the voices whispering of their fears and dreams then begging me to return to them.
So this week I am putting my foot down and returning to a more even field, I will be attending my first book convention. I am headed to Denver Colorado for RomCon’s Author University. I hope to glean some useful information and meet some crazy fun fellow book lovers. But most of all, to give my neglected dream side the chance to rise back up. And I get to wear fun summer sandals instead of high heels!
