Survived April snowstorms...check.
Glass of wine at hand...check.
Then I guess that means I am ready for my first blog post! Well, not exactly my first. I have been lucky enough to help Crystal, the brains behind Reading Between the Wines blogspot, for the past couple of years. Crystal calls me her PIC, person in charge of interviews...hmmm sometimes, but more so partners in crime. Hard to believe that you can meet someone online and have so much in common, besides our serious book addictions. So thanks to her wonderful blog I have been exposed to numerous authors and books I would otherwise have been ignorant of.
Recently I have realized that I was ignorant of quite a bit regarding the other side of the publishing world. It has been interesting learning about this process. Here I used to think that once you wrote a book you were done. You know how authors live right? Hand your completed novel off to an editor, sit back, put your feet up and pop some bonbons.
Between chasing my three kids around, working full time, and still finding time to hang with my wonderful husband I do sneak some chocolate (the desk the computer is sitting on in the header picture has a stash of dark chocolate in the drawer...but don’t tell my three year old). In my not so spare time I keep editing, does it ever end? No really, any authors out there reading this leave me a comment and let me know. And now I begin the search for an agent, I have my list and am ready to write and send out my query letters. I almost feel as if I am back on the playground asking to see if anyone wants to be my friend.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my first post! I plan on having more, hopefully some with exciting news. Until then...back to editing. *sigh*
